Anonymous asked: I'm sorry but. In the world of science genitalia === anatomical sex. You can be whatever gender you want. But. Your genitalia does define your biological sex. Scientists don't get to ask the new species of, lion or whatever what their gender is. They figure out who has what genitalia.
You know what I’m going to become scientist so when I get anons like these, I can be like ‘no you’re wrong, I am the science!” *studied science for almost year before giving up because of depression*
Anon, go away, we literally do not care about your narrow, cissexist, binarist views. Just block em, Mika. They’re just gonna keep rolling the same record over and over. Let’s talk about something else.
Blocked. I waited for them to listen to me and go away on their own, but apparently not.
Yeah not everyone seems to have the capacity to not be transphobic but hey whatever, we still hella cute magiboys.
(this particular anon post was not by me, just grabbed something to reblog)
Ah. Blocking. The most mature way to end an conversation when you realize the only content of your argument is “you’re wrong because I know I’m right”.
Also, transphobia? Seriously? Just because I “have the capacity” to understand how the human body works (after half a dozen years of studying) and pointing something out in hopes of having an actual conversation, I am transphobic? There are dozens of cases about transgender and intersex and homosexual people getting killed by fanatics and neo-Nazis and whatnot - but hey, this one guy knows science, she must be Satan.
Funny. I thought transphobia kinda meant intolerance, dislike and even hatred of the aforementioned group of persons. And honestly, I don’t really care about your gender or sexual identity or anything. If you are nice to me, I will be nice to you. If you treat me like a person, I will treat you like a person. Regardless of your sex, gender or appearance.
But what I will not have, is disregarding biology and other sciences to be a special snowflake and to get special attention and pity. Evolution is real, whether you believe in it or not. So is gravity. And so is the fact, that in most cases (with the exception of gonosomal trisomy and other similar syndromes) the human body is either female or male, with corresponding genitalia.
Which was the original topic that started this shitstorm; whether or not vaginas and penises are/can be called female and male genitalia.
In a way I can understand where a disagreeing response like that comes from. And I agree: no one should label your gender but you. But gender and the anatomical sex of your body are not the same thing. You might’ve been born in a body with female genitalia (which will work like a female body, producing eggs and menstruating), but you have every right in the world to identify with another gender (or no gender at all). I will call you with a pronoun of your preference and respect your choice. But it will not change the fact that your genotype is most likely to be XX and your body will still function like a female’s, with female genitalia. Your life choices will not magically transform your body into something different.
I hope I made this view clear. Did I get something wrong? Feel free to correct me, I love a good convo.
